Graduate credit for attending the conference and attending / finishing online assignments after the conference, is available at $140 for one hour. You may sign up at the conference all day, or register now.

Course Description & Title

ED 7037 NEOTIE 2016 Technology Conference Experience

Course Description: Participants will attend the NEOTIE conference experience, a local technology integration conference sponsored by a group of school districts in Northeast Ohio, (including Kenston, Orange, Beachwood, West Geauga, and Chagrin Falls Schools). Furthermore, they will continue their experience in an online format (hybrid model) with regular attendance required on various learning assignments following the conference itself.

Course / Syllabus

  1. Attend the full NEOTIE Conference on October 1, 2016
  2. Complete the reading & video assignments below, and submit the reflection pieces according to their due date: See assignments here…
  3. Attend both Hangouts online next week to share out best moments from NEOTIE, and what you walked away with, next steps, etc.
    1. Hangout #1 is scheduled for 10/11 at 7:30 – 8:30 PM EST. If you can’t make it, it will be recorded, and you’ll need to watch / reflect about the Hangout. If you attend in person, you won’t need to produce a written reflection for that event.
    2. Hangout #2 is scheduled for 10/20 at 8 – 9 PM EST. If you can’t make it, it will be recorded, and you’ll need to watch / reflect about the Hangout. If you attend in person, you won’t need to produce a written reflection for that event.
    3. Complete a mini-projectSee instructions here.
    4. Complete a reflection paper, 3-4 pages. Reflect on your journey with technology, especially what has been a struggle (if any) and how you overcame that struggle. What is different in your classroom now than 5 years ago? How are you a different teacher? Provide clear examples of what you did to grow as an educator.
    5. Submit your paper, using standard formatting, and email your submission to andreas.johansson@kenstonapps.org with the subject “NEOTIE Reflection Paper” in a separate email by no later than October 30, 2016. PDF file formatting is required.
